The housing and rental market in the Greater Toronto Area has been a nightmare for the last few years, with spaces of all kinds being rented out at exorbitant rates.
The latest horror once again comes out of Brampton, where a homeowner is renting out several rooms and even has people living in a car on the property.

“A house in Brampton has multiple rooms being rented and people living in a car on the driveway,” according to an Instagram post shared by NMG Brampton. “They’ve also been seen urinating on the side of the house.”
The post was also shared on Reddit’s Toronto Real Estate page and sadly, many of the comments on social media were of the unacceptable variety, proving what a terrible state of affairs the rental market has become.
“This is what happens when housing becomes unaffordable,” one person said.

That led to the lowest national vacancy rate on record since it began tracking that data in 1988, something that wasn’t surprising, according to CMHC deputy chief economist Kevin Hughes.
“Yes, the rental market is more affordable than the ownership market, for sure, but even that market is becoming quite daunting for many.”
