Central Sulawesi Provincial Government inspects land clearing location at KPN

Palu (ANTARA) – The Central Sulawesi Provincial Government inspected the location land clearing or land that has been cleared in the Nusantara Food Area (KPN) located in Talaga Village, Donggala Regency.

“The open area according to the work order (SPK) is 85 hectares, the cleared land is maximized by cleaning tree roots,” said Head of the Central Sulawesi Food Crops and Horticulture (TPH) Service Nelson Metubun when contacted in Palu, Tuesday.

He said that areas of clean land have now been planted with pilot plants or demonstration plot (demonstration plot) various food and horticultural crop commodities including corn, peanuts, cassava and soybeans.

Nelson said that 400 hectares of Nusantara Food Area (KPN) land out of a total of 1,123 hectares located in Talaga Village, Donggala Regency was redistributed to the community.

From a land area of ​​1,123 hectares, areas were divided into a number of landscaping for food crops and horticulture commodities covering an area of ​​600 hectares, then 400 hectares were distributed to the local community.

“The development of KPN is being carried out in stages. Of course we hope that this area will have a positive economic impact in the future for the local community,” he said.

KPN, he said, was prepared to supply food to the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago in East Kalimantan (Kaltim), because Central Sulawesi is close to East Kalimantan so the Central Sulawesi Provincial Government is taking advantage of this opportunity for business activities.

KPN in Donggala Regency is an integrated land extensification in the agriculture, plantation, livestock and fisheries sectors with the hope of providing new business opportunities for the community to improve the family economy, in addition to its main goal of maintaining national food security.

“As a follow-up, a proposal will be prepared for the need for tools to support process sustainability land clearing “through APBN budget allocations and APBD support,” said Nelson.
